Pest Education Services and Training (PEST) only employs qualified trainers and assessors in accordance with Standards for Registered Training Organisations. We work with our clients closely with the aim to provide a quality service that consistently exceeds their expectations.

Our culture can be described as being like a sports team. We work together for the benefit of the learner. Our work is carried out to specified and documented arrangements “the rules” to prevent unsatisfactory service to our clients. We do not use job titles. We have a “Captain” of the Team who is our registered Chief Executive Officer, Mark Sheppard. Under his leadership, our goal is to continuously strive for quality improvement, identify the changing needs of our existing and potential clients in the current environment and provide a valued service to meet those needs. Our Team

  • MARK SHEPPARD

    Mark is a fully licensed Pest Management Operator and Fumigator (Licence No. 3258), a qualified Certificate IV Workplace Trainer and Assessor and has achieved competency in all units of the Asset Maintenance - Pest Management Training Package. Mark is also qualified as a Lead Auditor in Quality Management Systems.

    Prior to Mark’s involvement in the pest management industry, Mark was employed in various roles, gaining extensive experience in senior management, business development, national operations development and international business negotiations for over 25 years.

    Marks expertise is based on the servicing and implementation of systems in commercial business, servicing of major corporate accounts, marketing and business development. Mark has held the following memberships:

    Marks introduction to the Pest Management Industry occurred in 1998 when he was asked to manage and undertake the restructure of a large pest management group of companies. In this capacity his duties included the complete restructure of all systems, including the design of new software and the installation of new computer equipment, new documentation, work place agreements, new work procedures, Quality Accreditation, implementation of a new accounting package and new debtor control systems.

    Mark was Executive Officer in Western Australia for the Australian Environmental Pest Managers Association for twelve months commencing in October 2001. Following this Mark founded our Pest Management consulting services.

    Since 2006 Marks work has expanded to overseas and includes consulting, training and presentations at conferences in China, Hong Kong, Philippines, Vietnam, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, India, Sri Lanka, United States and South Africa.

    Resultant of the above, Mark is often employed as an “industry expert” in disputes, legal actions and insurance claims and invited to speak at National and International Conferences.

    Mark has volunteered his time and contributed to promoting the pest management industry and is founder of the not for profit Fumigation Industry Association of Australia Inc. with a committee of volunteers.

  • FIONA SHEPPARD

    Fiona is an experienced Director with a demonstrated history of working in the education management industry. Skilled in Negotiation, Business Planning, Coaching, Strategic Planning, and Business Development, she is a strong professional with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Edith Cowan University. Fiona completed major studies in Marketing and was awarded for achieving the highest score in Business Strategy for her graduating year.

    Fiona holds a Diploma of Teaching Dip.Ed (Primary). She is a Registered Teacher (TRBWA Reg No. 33117296) and Workplace Trainer and Assessor. Fiona is qualified as a Lead Auditor in Quality Management Systems. Fiona is a fully licensed Pest Management Operator and Fumigator (Licence No. 9422). Fiona manages quality of training and communication to ensure they meet the standards set by the Australian Quality Training Framework.

    Fiona has mentored and had a positive impact on learners who are new to the industry, and particularly assisted those with learning difficulties to succeed by focusing on their strengths and adapted learning materials and assessments in response.

    Fiona has been involved in a number of charitable initiatives to assist those experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, childhood illness and developmental disabilities. She has volunteered her time and contributed to promoting women in the pest management industry and currently holds a volunteer position with the Fumigation Industry Association of Australia Inc.

  • ADMINISTRATION TEAM

    We work with an experienced Administration Team with more than 25 years of administration experience in the media, photographic, fashion modelling, retail and printing industries, with a proven track record of support to all levels of corporate management and business owners. With expertise in streamlining processes to maximize efficiency, problem solving and organisational flow our Team takes pride in their work and encourages a stress-free business environment.

  • JACK SHEPPARD

    JACK SHEPPARD

    Jack is currently a student and has been coding websites for many years. He has developed his own websites and creates tutorials for other students on how to code. Jack manages survey data entry and analysis, AVETMISS reporting, the Pest Education Services & Training website and assists with other technical support.

    When Jack was 14 years old, he founded Jack’s Creative Kitchen, an initiative where he baked, sold and donated what he made to charities in our community experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, childhood illness, developmental disabilities. The Christmas before his final year at school, donated $2244 he earned to support a scholarship for a boy, who would not normally have access to the financial resources needed to have the same education he has received.
